Connections is the National Theatre's celebrated outreach project, delivered in collaboration with regional theatres from across the country, including us.
Each year the team commissions new work from established writers and supports those plays in productions from youth and school groups from far and wide. We're thrilled once again to be the host theatre for productions from across the South West. We'll showcase work by Guernsey Grammar and Sixth Form Centre, Best Rest Youth Company, Dramarama Youth Theatre, Kingsley School, John Cabot Academy, ONE Theatre Company and Wellsway School, along with a Bristol Old Vic Young Company and St. Brendan's Sixth Form College production of The Grandfathers, by Rory Mullarkey, directed by Jesse Jones.
Here in Bristol, the project forms part of the Young Company's amazing work. In fact, last year, Young Company Director Miranda Cromwell's production of Children of Killers, made with students from City Academy, was such a triumph that it was invited to perform as part of the final showcase at the National Theatre's Cottesloe.
Connections is your chance to support young people from across the region by enjoying a plethora of new plays from some of the most exciting writers around.
