So what do you do exactly?
Screen printing, illustration and design. I also help curate local shows in Bristol and manage an art space at Biblos on Stokes Croft, showcasing local artists work each month.
How did all of this come about?
I spent a year traveling and drew pretty much every day. When I got back I knew I wanted to make a living out of it.
Where did you learn your craft?
I got a taste for printing about 5 years ago when I did a screen printing summer school in Bristol; since then I’ve been teaching myself.
It's midnight, you're clean out of ideas and have a pressing deadline - how do you find inspiration?
Quick flick through my old Vogue’s, glass of red, whack 'Stairway to Heaven' on, and I’m there.
Has anyone or anything particularly influenced your work?
I spent 6 months traveling round the States in a van, and that trip changed my life. It's such a vast country, so much to see, I'd say that had a massive impact on what i'm producing.
Is there someone out there you'd like to work with?
There’s quite a few. I love the artist Blu - but more realistically my friend Tim Ryan who lives in Bristol. He’s super talented and his stuff gets quite dark; I like that.
What's the best bit about doing what you do?
When people buy your prints and tell you how much they love it, that's the best.
How do you think Bristol has influenced your work?
There’s so much talent in Bristol, and it’s got a great scene. People are always pushing the boundaries and that’s inspiring.
What's the best thing about being a creative in Bristol?
It’s a big city that feels like a village. I’ve been fortunate enough to meet a lot of talented artists in Bristol and that’s when you get inspired to push your ideas, as everyone’s so on it.
